  • Action: research how Thunderclap works and how we may want to utilize it.
    • Works best with a large network
    • People give it access to post on your behalf so that on a certain day/time the same post with hashtags and all are posted at the same time
    • Not sure how effective it is
  • Action: research other prison systems and how they prioritize rehabilitation over punishment.
    • Australia
    • Iceland
    • Sweden
    • Norway – Restorative Justice (retribution, incapacitation, deterrence, rehabilitation, restoration)
  • Action: research what retailers are using prison labor – info campaign and/or PSA
  • Action: Sara will be talking to Martinez who was held past parole
    • Major issues are:
      • Lack of transitional housing
      • Most of the existing housing doesn’t allow sex offenders
      • No assistance from caseworkers
  • Action: Re-Entry resource List (Sara to send 5 resources to vet to each person below)

  • Action: Research Vivitrol programs in other states – Shalom

    • Should we engage?
    • Who else is running for Sheriff?  Call Larry Burns again?  Denise?
    • Consider making an event that would bring together local activist group leaders?
    • Action: research best practices for mental health trainings for police
      • Connecticut (Shalom shared something about this on Facebook awhile back)
      • Florida – one of the first states to implement mental health court

      • Action: Update next meeting and create brainstorming doc – BDRs – Sara
        • CJ Ideas: Compensation statute for Wrongful convictions; Revised sex offenders statuses; Mandated mental health training for police
        • Education Ideas: Pot tax for education; Ending or funding Common Core; Split up school board; testing
        • Mental Health Ideas: Adjust the reciprocity rules so that licensing is easier (maybe not a legislative issue); mandated ratios for mental health professionals to patients
      • Can check Nelis for past BDRs
      • We need to also start thinking about which legislators will be friendly to our BDRs
  • Long term goals:
      • Secure a space for RS
        • Go Fund Me is live – Share share share!
        • Giving Tuesday
      • Make mental health training a pivotal issue for the sheriff race
      • Get a blog active

    • NV CURE Meeting – Wednesday 29th at 6:30pm
    • RS Meeting –  Friday December 1st at 7pm – Mental Health but we will be discussing potential BDRs

    • Las Vegas Radical Mental Health Collective Group – Saturday December 2nd 6pm at Transcending the Gender Box
    • Mike’s Karaoke event  – Saturday December 2nd 8pm at Go Go Karaoke
